Extensive Barn Redevelopment

This began as an empty barn with an earth floor and animal stalls in situ. BJ Bain Building Contractors undertook a full renovation of the property, working closely with our clients to understand their vision for their new home.

The property was skilfully renovated by the team commencing with the excavation and installation of underfloor heating, screeding and fitting of an air source pump.

The beautiful arrow slit window reveals were opened to let in more light and one of the original horse stable dividers was reused for decorative purposes. Some of the existing stone was reused, made into quoins and positioned on the end of the new wall.

The stairs and extended spindles were designed and fitted in-house.

The external stair rails were fabricated and fit by our sister company Hutchinson’s Fabrications Ltd.
